Track the Green Fire and Other Wildfires Across California
The Green Fire is now one of six active wildfires in California, part of a growing list of incidents as fire season accelerates statewide.
To assist with detection and public safety, NOAA has launched its Next-Generation Fire System, a satellite-based alert service that provides near-instant fire ignition alerts—often within one minute. It’s expected to improve firefighter deployment speed and offer residents precious extra time to evacuate.
